Two talented student-musicians from Lindenhurst High School were selected to showcase their musical mastery during the 2022 New York State School Music Association’s All-State performance, which will take place this December in Rochester, New York.

Sinead Buckley has been selected as an alto 2 to perform in the mixed chorus, and Aurelia Cacace has been selected to play bass trombone in the symphony orchestra.

“We are honored in Lindenhurst to have students selected year after year to participate in NYSSMA’s All-State Ensembles,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Jon Trapani. “It is a true testament to the work our music teachers do from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is a particular honor to have two students selected for two different performing ensembles. Congratulations to our music teachers and Aurelia and Sinead on this tremendous achievement.”

The competitive selection process for selecting an All-State musician includes teacher recommendations, audition scores during NYSSMA solo evaluations and exemplary participation in other performing organizations. Approximately 7,000 students audition for the eight All-State performing groups and just under 900 are selected to participate annually.
