Contest Follows Scripps Rules to Crown Top Spellers
Lindenhurst, NEW YORK (February 2024)—William Rall Elementary School held its 11th annual spelling bee for students in fourth and fifth grades on January 29th. The contestants were the top three winners from each of their respective classrooms.
The Rall spelling bee used the Scripps National Spelling Bee contest rules as guidance for this test of spelling skill. Fourth grade student Thomas Stankiewicz took first place and fifth grade student Ava Facilla took second place. Both students have advanced to the next round, in which they will perform in an online spelling and vocabulary competition.
