Fourth grade students at Daniel Street Elementary School and Alleghany Elementary School recently participated in an activity that explored numerous aspects of Native American culture through a program presented by Journeys Into American Indian Territories, a group that provides curriculum-based learning experiences for elementary students.
Throughout the day students rotated throughout several presentations, including a museum, games and stories, clay pots and government. Students learned about ways Native Americans utilized animal resources in their daily lives and viewed items used during these times such as clothing, utensils and shelters. They also learned about hunting and agricultural practices.
