High School Jazz Band Goes on Educational Tour and Workshop, Perform Concert at the Jazz Loft

Lindenhurst, NEW YORK (April 2024)—The Lindenhurst High School Jazz Band recently spent a day at the Jazz Loft, a famous museum located in Stony Brook Village. This educational field trip gave our talented student musicians the opportunity to tour the museum, take part in a music workshop, and play a concert for a full house at a storied venue.

The Jazz Loft is dedicated to the preservation of jazz history. Contained in a historical building dating back to the 1700’s, the Jazz Loft contains vintage performance spaces from the 1940’s and invites a number of local, national and international artists to play.

Through the visit, the jazz band students were able to learn about the genre’s history and develop important skills. They also had the opportunity to perform in an authentic jazz venue.
