Students Placed in BACCA Competition

The fine and performing arts department of the Lindenhurst Union Free School District is pleased to recognize that 11 students from Suzette Picozzi’s Advanced Photo and Digital Photography classes were recently entered into the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts 2017 Judged Photography and Sculpture competition. A public viewing was held from Sept. 27 through Oct. 11.

During an awards ceremony held at the Old Town Hall in Babylon on Oct. 5, three of the students entered, senior Dylan Pereira, junior Brianna Quinn and senior Jennifer Buckely placed first, third and with honorable mention, respectively. 



Student Musicians Selected to Represent Their District


The Lindenhurst Union Free School District is pleased to announce that ten Lindenhurst High School students were accepted to perform in the NYSCAME/SCMEA All-County High School Festival on Friday, Nov. 17 at Hauppauge High School.            

Congratulations to Fiona Buckley (treble chorus), Cameron Deubel (trumpet/cornet), Kevin Dyson (mixed chorus), Lea Jilling (treble chorus), Nicole Ramirez (mixed chorus), Stephen Sailer (violin 2), Taylor Voorneveld (cello), Russell Ward(mixed chorus/baritone saxophone), Natalie Ward (flute) and Veronica Yanes (mixed chorus).

            Cameron Deubel (trumpet) and Russell Ward (mixed chorus), will also be representing the Lindenhurst High School in the NYSSMA All-State Winter Conference from Nov. 30-Dec. 4 in Rochester, New York.

            Russell (baritone sax) along with students Luke Korzenko (jazz guitar), Natalie Ward (flute), and Stephen Sailer (violin) hold positions as alternates for their respective instruments.

            Thousands of students auditioned to be a part of this ensemble and we are very proud of these talented students who will represent the district.

            “This is a tremendous honor for our students and the teachers who have worked diligently to achieve this level of success,” said Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts Jon Trapani. “We wish our students well as they represent our district.”
